Hi, I am Naomi Voss, owner and midwife behind Tell The Bees Midwifery. I am a caring, compassionate Certified Professional Midwife and a mother of two. I have been supporting families in birth since 2010, first as a birth worker and now as a midwife. I have always loved the process of pregnancy, birth, and the transformation that comes with becoming a parent. My fascination with birth began when my own mother was pregnant with my younger brother, and it has only grown stronger since.
I trained at the Midwives College of Utah, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in midwifery and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I am a member of the Virginia Midwives Alliance.
I came to home birth in 2018. I attended one, and I fell in love with it. In 2020, several of my clients chose to move their births home, and that settled it for me. This is the care I want to offer as a Certified Professional Midwife.
I believe every person deserves to feel empowered in their choices and confident in their ability to give birth. My goal is to provide the support, information, and reassurance needed for families to approach birth with trust and confidence.
If you are interested in learning more about care from a Certified Professional Midwife, I offer an initial complimentary consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, discuss your goals, and explore how I can best support you. I attend births across Williamsburg and the Peninsula, including Toano, New Kent, West Point, Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News. I also travel to the lower Richmond area, and to Southside on a case by case basis.
What to expect at a prenatal visit
Prenatal visits take place at my office inside Restored Life Wellness Center in Yorktown, by appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, or in your own home. Plan on 30 to 60 minutes. That leaves room to talk instead of racing through a checklist.
We start by catching up on how you are sleeping, eating, and feeling, and what has changed since the last visit. Then comes the hands-on part: blood pressure, pulse, temperature, belly measurements, and, if you would like, a listen to your baby’s heartbeat. Later in pregnancy I also feel for your baby’s position.
Labs, screenings, and other choices come up when they are due. You get the full picture and the time to think it over, so the decisions stay yours. Each visit ends with your questions and the next appointment on the calendar.
Partners, support people, and children are welcome.
