Tell the Bees Midwifery currently serves families in Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, and nearby Virginia communities. If you are outside this area, reach out and we can talk through what is possible.
Yes! If you are interested in learning more about midwifery care, I offer an initial complimentary consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, discuss your goals, and explore how I can best support you.
Your investment includes care from early pregnancy through six weeks postpartum for both you and your baby. You are not rushed through appointments, and there is space for education, questions, and planning.
- Initial booking appointment between about 6 and 8 weeks of pregnancy
- Individualized prenatal visits (Monthly visits until 28 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks, then weekly until birth.)
- On call beginning at 37 weeks (Your midwife is on call for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for labor and urgent concerns.)
- Comfort measures in labor (Use of a birth pool and TENS unit during labor for comfort and pain relief.)
- Enhanced postpartum care (Visits at 24 to 72 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks for both you and your baby)
- General lactation support is part of your postpartum care.
Tell The Bees Midwifery does not bill insurance directly. Your care is paid for out of pocket according to your payment plan. Many families are then able to seek reimbursement from their insurance after the birth.
To support this, I partner with a billing company that can submit claims for you using a detailed superbill from your care. You are not on your own with the paperwork.
- Benefit verification
- A $ 25 benefit verification fee helps confirm what your insurance may reimburse for out of hospital midwifery care.
- End of care billing support
- At the end of your pregnancy, there is a $75 billing fee paid directly to my biller. They will submit the claim and superbill to your insurance on your behalf.
Any reimbursement from your insurance company is paid directly to you. This does not change when your payments to the practice are due. Payments for care are made during pregnancy based on the schedule we set together.
Insurance plans vary, so reimbursement is never guaranteed, but many families do receive some money back. I am happy to answer questions and help you decide whether submitting through my biller is a good fit for you.
I require a $500 deposit, then you must pay in full by 36 weeks. Your plan must include an initial payment and monthly payments that fit your budget. Choosing a payment plan does not change the quality of care you receive. Skipping prenatal or postpartum visits does not reduce the total fee.
The non-refundable initial payment of $500 is due at our first prenatal visit. This registration fee is non-refundable. It covers the first visit, charting, paperwork, lab requests, and other work needed for safe prenatal care. This fee is part of the global cost and will be deducted from your final balance.

- Prenatal visit initial or follow-up: $500
- Routine prenatal visit: $250
- Problem or complication visits: $350
- Intrapartum care and delivery: $2500
- Postpartum visit: $350
- Newborn exam initial and second: $350
- Newborn routine visit: $250

- Water birth pool rental: $250
- Birth assistant: $500 each
